There’s More to Portland, Maine, Than Lighthouses and Lobsters. You Can Curl and Drink Beer Too.

lobster and lighthouse in Portland, Maine

I’m charmed by lighthouses and ate my weight in lobster in Portland, Maine. But there’s plenty more to do in this artsy, green-living, outdoorsy waterfront city. Its population is less than 70,000, but it has been named one of the top food destinations and has the most breweries per capita than any other city in the U.S.

We stayed in the Portland Harbor Hotel, with the amazing Blue Fin restaurant. It’s within walking distance of everything we did, which included touring a Victorian mansion and eating and  shopping in Old Port. See our 25 things to do in Portland.
