Why You Should Visit Thailand During Low Season

by Katy Severson
Thailand in low season

It’s the freest feeling I know: riding a motorbike down the main highway of Koh Lanta during rainy season when the island empties into a remote, rainy place.

We rode down the length of the island, to the stunning national park at the bottom where crystal blue water is surrounded by a forest with monkeys and tropical birds. At one point, we turned around to see two elephants cleaning each other with their trunks. It was blisteringly hot and rained a bit, but it was well worthwhile to have the island to ourselves.

Low season in Thailand is April – October.
