My Epiphany About Pickup Trucks

by Chris Butsch
GMC Sierra

I never understood the appeal of pickup trucks. They guzzle gas like a supercar, offer less agility than a tipsy elephant and are harder to park than the USS Nimitz.

But while ferrying friends to a volunteer event, our large collection of buckets and tools rattling in the spacious bed behind us, the pickup truck started to make sense.

It’s like a toolbox or a first-aid kit; you may not use it all the time, but when you do, you feel heroic.

I admire the GMC Sierra for its incredibly smooth transmission, carbon fiber bed and handsome outer jacket.
