Winter’s coming and it’s time to hit the Beech! The small town of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, (population 322) welcomes thousands of visitors during ski season. It’s the highest ski area in the east and home to Beech Mountain Resort, which has 17 slopes on 98 skiable acres along with ice skating, tubing and snowboarding.

This Snow Capital of the South averages 42 inches of snow a year from Mother Nature. With advanced snow-making capabilities, the resort ensures there’s always plenty of the white stuff.  There are also two new chairlifts and 100 new LED slope lights.
