2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Pleasantly Surprises

Introduced in 2011, the Outlander Sport gained popularity as the only true compact crossover available for under $21k. Now, however, that space is crowded by the Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V. Does the Outlander Sport still stack up?

Mitsubishi’s cheap little crossover clobbers the HR-V at handling, and though it may not be as handsome or refined as the Kona or CX-3, it offers 5 cubic feet more of space.

I didn’t expect much, but came away liking the Outlander GT. If you’re compact crossover shopping on a budget, it’s worth a test drive.
